The soils of Nizza and Barolo both have a very important vine-growing vocation, for this reason the Gagliardo family, with a long tradition in the Barolo area, recently (July 2017) has decided to be present also in Nizza area with its own winery. Tenuta Garetto is located in Agliano Terme, the  most valuable spot to produce Nizza Docg, a brand new appellation, which is considered the highest expression of the Barbera d’Asti grapes. The property is a  unique piece of land of 12 hectares on the hill dominating the winery itself. The vines have been planted mostly in the last century ‘30s and ’50s and all of them have ideal exposures, facing South/South-West. Tenuta Garetto produce Nizza DOCG, Barbera d’Asti DOCG and some Grignolino d’Asti DOC.
